Working out in my world is a form of therapy. If I don’t move my body and break a sweat for at least 45 minutes each day, I feel like it’s a day wasted. When I was living the 9-5 life, I used to workout at 6 am and depending on the day, again after work. I’m dedicated to fitness and I love it. I have people who contact me about working out with them, and how they too can find the motivation to workout. For me, it’s easy, but we all have times when we’re starting over and need that extra push to get it together. It takes 21 days to form a habit. I live in South Florida so it’s always bikini season, so let’s get fit together!

Here’s some tips on how to get into the habit of working out from yours truly:

1. If you decide to workout in the morning, sleep in your workout clothes. This takes away one step of getting ready to workout. The toughest part about working out is making it to the gym. If you wake up already dressed, that’s half the battle

2. Create a workout plan before hand. Whether you use YouTube to find a week’s worth of routines, or the internets, get yourself excited to go to the gym. Personally, I love creating workouts for myself. I usually do 2 or 3 week plans to see how much my body continues to change

2.5. Take a group fitness class! Although I personally get overwhelmed by super excited and upbeat instructors, they really work and motivate me to get moving! There's truly nothing like having some personal attention from an instructor telling you to do better, get pumped and makes you feel good!

3. Go on a shopping spree!! This is literally my favorite part of working out, choosing my gym outfit! Once I find a favorite brand, I’ll usually buy 2 or 3 of the same item in different colors. My favorite instance is putting together an outfit months apart by total chance. I put as much thought into my gym outfit as I do my routine and this makes me so proud

4. Find a buddy! I usually like to work out alone just because most of my day is spent with people. Like I previously mentioned, the gym is my therapy and refuge. Its where I go to de-stress and clear my head. BUT, when just starting back, if you promise someone else to meet them at the gym, how bad would you feel if you flaked on them? You wouldn’t only be breaking a promise to yourself, but also to your friend.

5. Create a fire workout playlist! This is also something I love doing. I need music to do anything in life. Getting ready for work in the morning “okay I have two more songs until I have to leave this house”. I have a few workout moods that comes from music. 1) Beyoncé. Especially when she’s getting into performance shape that year. I workout with her abs in mind. 2) All up-beat music with strong beats to keep my cardio on point. 3) Slow ballads for when I know my period is coming, I’m in a sad mood or just feel like turning that sadness into power. 4) Hardcore rap to match my badass in the gym mood. So, create as any lists as needed.

6. Just get moving! You don't have to go TO the gym to get in a good work out! Take a walk around a hip neighborhood, ride your bike/skates, go climbing, or, if you're a bit boughie, take a few laps around an outdoor mall!
