Stay Empowered Your Single Season!

I love love.
I love giving love. I love being loved. I love feeling love. And I love having a significant other to create and gush and build love.
But, I’m single.
Another single Valentine’s Day, I used to always joke.
Being single doesn’t mean that I don’t have joy, as many outsiders think. There’s nothing “missing” or “wrong” with me or my life. I have an incredible family and friends who I throw lots of love towards.
Just the other day, I saw a clip from Loni Love on the Real about being single and still living a fulfilling life. As a quick background, Loni had been single for a while, but recently began a relationship. Since she began posting pictures of her and her beau, fans started commenting about how much “happier” she seems, and how much “joy” it looks like she has now.
My response below is exactly how I feel.

“Being single isn’t the end of the world! I’m single and living a joyful fulfilling life. If/when a man comes around, he better be incredible enough to make me not want to be single any more and make me not be able to imagine building a life without him”
While I joke about the craziness of dating and dodging situationships, it’s not the end of the world that I’m single! I’m enjoying (strong word) going out on dates and getting to know my own personal tastes. As I’ve promised myself, I’m putting Jessica first and nothing will change that! (Unless the perfect man comes strolling my way!) During this season, I’m focused on finishing my MBA, attending networking conferences, launching my real estate business and creating a masterclass. I’m busy!
Since it’s Valentine’s Day, and I’m here for all my single ladies out there, below are some quotes to empower my independent single ladies! Don’t let any negativity sneak in during today’s quiet moments. You’re amazing and don’t ever forget it!
"Happiness comes from being who you actually are instead of who you think you are supposed to be. Being traditional is not traditional anymore. It’s funny that we still think of it that way. Normalize your lives, people. You don’t want a baby? Don’t have one. I don’t want to get married? I won’t. You want to live alone? Enjoy it. You want to love someone? Love someone. Don’t apologize. Don’t explain. Don’t ever feel less than." - Shonda Rhimes
“How wrong is it for a woman to expect the man to build the world she wants, rather than to create it herself?” - Anais Nin
“I don’t need a prince charming to have my own happy ending.” -Katy Perry
“If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.” - Margaret Thatcher
“The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before.” - Albert Einstein
“I am a strong woman with or without this other person, with or without this job, and with or without these tight pants.” - Queen Latifah
"When people call single women selfish for the act of tending to themselves, it's important to remember that the very acknowledgement that women have selves that exist independently of others, and especially independent of husbands and children, is revolutionary. A true age of female selfishness, in which women recognized and prioritized their own drives to the same degree to which they have always been trained to tend to the needs of all others, might, in fact, be an enlightened corrective to centuries of self-sacrifice." - Rebecca Traister
"Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you're pretty sexy and you're taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with." - Carrie Bradshaw
If none of this helps, just listen to Ariana Grande’s latest album “7 rings”. I’m 100000% sure you’ll find empowerment in every song!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
