My Favorite Thanksgiving Memory!

It was 2010. We set up the house with three extra tables on the front porch, the back patio and in the living room. Every moment of that day I was taking in. We had our 3 McQueen elders, my Nanee’s siblings, Aunt Bern aka NoNo, Uncle Bubba and Aunt Eva in our presence. Family means everything to me, so this particular day was very special. When I look at this photo, it reminds me to cherish your family, cherish every moment you have with them, not just on holidays!
Growing up, we never had a super formal dinner, but the day was always surrounded with lots of family, a rhyming prayer courtesy of my Nanee in years past, laughter, fun, and aromas from the dishes started days before. The food I’m sure was delicious and plentiful. I ran through the kitchen stealing bites and being the *official* taste tester. The kids running around enjoying their cousins. The old folks telling stories to everybody. The rest of us looking through photo albums and creating new memories.
It’s what the holidays are all about! Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!
