10 Ways To Pay It Forward This Holiday Season

The Holidays are a time to spend with family, think of all the reasons we are grateful and pay it forward. Paying it forward can be shown in the smallest gestures and you won’t always have to spend a fortune. Especially those of us who can’t afford extravagant (let’s be real, or even less expensive) gifts this year. In the transition to being a full-time student again, I came up with creative ways to pay it forward and spend time with friends and family this season.
Here’s 10 ways to pay it forward this holiday season!
1. Cook dinner with a friend. There’s nothing like spending quality time with friends.
2. Make mini toiletry bags for a homeless shelter. Include deodorant, tampons, socks, wipes, toilet paper, etc.
3. Volunteer at a local library and read to kids
4. Spend time at a retirement home, play games, read, bake for them
5. Host a holiday fundraiser party for your favorite charity
6. Many of my friends are new parents, offer your babysitting services for free so the new parents can enjoy a night (or afternoon) off
7. Write personalized holiday cards. Leave a special message wishing someone good graces
8. Write and encouraging note and leave it in a random place
9. Get a head start on Spring Cleaning and donate unwanted items
10. Donate food to a shelter
Time spent with someone can be the refresher that they need. You never know what your neighbor, long lost friend, associates or colleagues and those super close to you are going through. Give your time this season and make some memories!
Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas!
